A CPA is a certified public accountant, which is the statutory title of qualified accountants in the U.S. who have passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination and have met additional state education and experience requirements for membership in their respective professional accounting bodies and certification as a CPA.The three requirements for CPA licensure are:
CPA candidates need to amass 150 academic credit hours, which typically equates to five years of total collegiate education. The Rice MAcc degree is designed to satisfy the educational requirements for the CPA license and will prepare the candidate to pass the exam.
