  • Apply - Master of Accounting (MAcc)

Current Rice undergraduates:  Current Rice undergraduates may submit an application once you have completed BUSI 305-Financial Accounting. We encourage you to apply early to receive a prompt conditional admittance decision. Knowing whether you have been conditionally admitted will assist you in choosing courses for the rest of your undergraduate studies. Early applicants also receive several benefits, such as:

    • priority scheduling for BUSI 405- Issues in Financial Accounting and BUSI 440- Auditing courses
    • qualify for a paid internship
    • career and program advice from MAcc director
    • develop connections with potential recruiters
    • invited to various campus events for professional development
    • better opportunities for scholarship

Undergraduates and alumni from other institutions: We accept applications from non-Rice candidates as early as 18 months before your desired start of the MAcc. (The one-year MAcc begins each August.) Applications are accepted through March 31st of the year of desired matriculation, though opportunities for scholarships are maximized by applying by January.

Please note: the Rice MAcc is unique in that it is a program tailored for people who did not major in accounting as an undergraduate. Candidates with any non-accounting undergraduate major, including non-business majors, are eligible to apply. Due to the design of the Rice MAcc, candidates with a bachelor’s degree in accounting are not eligible for admission.
