Members of the Jones School community gathered on Friday evening, March 9, for the third annual Jones School wine tasting.

The event, which has become a school tradition, attracted over 150 students, faculty, staff, guests, alumni, and corporate sponsors to Christopher’s Wine Warehouse in Rice Village to sample a fine assortment of red, white, and champagne wines from Europe and Australia.

The purpose of the event is threefold: to allow students and alumni to network with corporate sponsors, to educate attendees on wines and wine etiquette, and to bring all constituencies of the Jones School together for a fun evening of socializing in an informal setting. Mission was more than accomplished this year.

Wine Tasting Co-Chair Charlotte Linn (MBA ’01) summed up evening: “We are so pleased the wine seminar was such a success. We have received really positive feedback from students, alumni, and recruiters. The opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and recruiters to network and enjoy fine wine in a relaxed off-campus environment makes this a great event. We had a terrific group of volunteers from the first-year class, so I hope this becomes a long-standing Jones School event.”

Continental Airlines and Enron deserve thanks for their sponsorship of this event, as does the Jones School Career Placement Center and the student clubs that pitched in funds to make the evening happen.
