Janet H. Moore has worked internationally for 20+ years as an international lawyer and businessperson, and in recent years, a consultant. Her consultancy, Global Rainmaking®, helps professionals—both domestically and abroad—to develop more clients with customized client development strategies.
Janet has worked with organizations of all sizes, from large, multinational organizations (such as Goldman Sachs, ConocoPhillips and KPMG) and associations (International Bar Association) to growing businesses.
Prior to launching her consultancy, she spent a total of fifteen years practicing law at BakerBotts, Enron, and (as a foreign visiting attorney) Santamarina y Steta in Mexico City. During her career, Janet has worked on international transactions based in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and the Middle East.
Janet graduated with honors from both Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and the University of Texas School of Law, where she was an Associate Editor of the Texas International Law Journal. She attended the London School of Economics and studied in Austria, France and Italy, and is also a professionally-trained and certified executive coach.
Janet frequently writes and speaks internationally about cross-cultural client development. During her career she has contributed to a wide variety of publications, including The Asian Wall Street Journal and an American Bar Association bestseller.
Currently she serves on the Mayor’s International Trade and Development Council (Canada), the Menil Collection’s corporate committee, the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s advisory board, and as Chair Elect of the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations. In recent years she has served on several National Endowment for the Arts selection panels. Janet belongs to organizations such as the American Bar Association, International Coach Federation, National Speakers Association and World Affairs Council of Houston.
