Jones School lead academic sponsor for annual NBMBAA conference

NBMBAA Story 35 Conference Logo LargeThe Jones Graduate School of Business is proud to announce its lead academic sponsorship with National Black MBA Association for the 35th Annual NBMBAA Conference and Exposition, September 10 - 14, 2013 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. Highly regarded as one of the nation's largest business and professional conferences and expositions, the annual event matches job seekers with opportunities for some of the country's leading talent, NBMBAA members, and Fortune 500 corporations. "Courageous Leadership: Owning Your Own Success" is the theme.

This is the first time the conference will have an academic institution as a lead sponsor. "After over forty years as an organization, we are still proudly celebrating breakthroughs," said Audrey Hines, board chairperson of the NBMBAA. Not only are they honored to partner with the university but Hines also added, "It's fitting that Rice University will join us as a lead academic sponsor while we commemorate 35 years of conference history in Houston."

As previous lead academic partner for MBA Women International (MBAWI, formerly National Association of Women MBAs or NAWMBA) and National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), the Jones School prides itself on its role of supporting its students and other MBA candidates who attend corporate recruitment efforts. Established in 1970, the National Black MBA Association, Inc. (NBMBAA) is dedicated to developing partnerships that result in the creation of intellectual and economic wealth in the black community through its five channels of engagement; education, career, leadership, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle.
