Kerry Back holds the J. Howard Creekmore Chair in Finance at the Jones Graduate School. He moved to Rice in July, 2009. Prior to coming to Rice, he was on the faculties of Northwestern University, Indiana University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Texas A&M University. He was Senior Associate Dean and was named a University Distinguished Faculty Member at Washington University in St. Louis. At the Jones School, he teaches Investments to MBA and PhD students.
Dr. Back is the author of two textbooks, one on pricing and hedging derivative securities, and the other a PhD textbook on the theory of asset pricing and portfolio choice. He has published numerous journal articles and served as editor or on the editorial boards of numerous journals. Currently, he is a co-editor of Finance and Stochastics and an associate editor of the Journal of Finance.
