Mexico's top business magazine ranks Rice MBA best in Southwest

Rice MBA ranked best in Texas and Southwest for prospective students of Mexico

March 4, 2009 - The Jones Graduate School of Management was recently ranked the best in Texas and in the Southwest in an international MBA ranking by Mexico's leading business magazine, Expansión. The ranking “The Best Global MBAs for Mexicans, 2009” also placed the Jones School 14th nationally and 26th globally.

“The Jones School is a natural fit for international students looking for a top education at a leading business school,” said Dean Glick, Jones School dean and H. Joe Nelson III professor of management. “By providing unique resources especially geared for international students to help succeed academically, we prepare all students to be global thought leaders of tomorrow.”

The Jones School has strong business connections with Mexico including partnerships with the Graduate School of Business Administration and Leadership (EGADE) based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. In addition to the EGADE exchange program, the Jones School also has an exchange program with INCAE in Costa Rica. On the recruiting front, over the past few years, Rice has conducted many events throughout Mexico and Latin America in Argentina, Chile, Columbia, and Peru and has recently partnered with The Princeton Review GMAT prep centers in Latin America.

The ranking evaluates the educational experience of Mexico’s students at a full-time MBA program overseas including measuring academic quality including GMAT scores and the knowledge creation of faculty, the return on investment, and the program’s international population.

The school’s reputation in the Mexican market is also factored into the ranking as assessed by corporate leaders, decision makers and top executives who make up Expansión´s readership base. Additionally, Expansión subscribers reflect on which international business schools are best positioned and most highly considered in the Mexican business community. The full ranking has been published in the February 16th edition of Expansión, a product of Time Inc.
